Port-au-Prince—Kicking
off the Empower Haitian Women project’s promotional activities, project
founder, Doudly Elius, AEIF’s 2014 first Haitian competition winner and project
members: Gaelle Pierre, founder of “Femmes Autonomes;” Guy-Luce Fenelon, EHW
grants & strategic plan manager; and Anastazyia Vareschi, international
project team coordinator were invited by the “Go for English” radio show to speak
about project activities.
The popular English
language radio show, hosted by Kenel Joseph and Phedre Delinois made
possible by funding through the U.S. Embassy, provided a platform for the
team to share project history and objectives with the local community. Phedre
Delinois, “Go for English” host, posed a range of questions for the team on
topics ranging from the project's choice of focus on disabled women to the
role of international community in local projects. Doudly Elius also used the
"Go for English" segment to share how members of the community
could apply as project beneficiaries or provide support.

Empower Haitian Women project continued promotional activities Wednesday
morning at local radio station Melodie 103.3 FM as guests of host Acenel
Laurent. Project founder and AEIF 2014 competition winner, Doudly Elius, and
team members: Gaelle Pierre, founder of “Femmes Autonomes;” Guy-Luce Fenelon,
EHW grants & strategic plan manager; and Anastazyia Vareschi, international
project team coordinator shared with listeners about the project’s aim to
provide business and entrepreneurial training for 40 Haitian women living with
disabilities.
