“New year, New Plans for Haitian Disability Advocacy Non-Profit AAFHAMR”

Old and new AAFHMR staff and volunteers gather to strategize for 2017.

L'Association pour l'Autonomisation des Femmes Haitiennes a Mobilite Reduite (AAFHAMR) met Sunday 12th, 2017 at Delmas's Kokoye Bar and Grill to lay the organization's road map for 2017.

I attendance were both new and old members including: founder, Doudly Elius (Elaniste 2014), Nicholson Jean Georges (Elaniste 2014); Daniel Jean; Dere Verly, Jean Francois Wordson; Sabine Denart and Marcna Andy Pierre.

Top on the agenda was introducing new staff and the emphasizing that 2017 will be a growth year for the organization, with focus on recruiting new and dynamic staff to carry out entrepreneurial, employment, and ESL (English as a Second Language) trainings for Haitian women living with disabilities.

In developing the annual activity calendar, the team was unanimous on the critical involvement of AAFHAMR training alumi in AAFHAMR's ongoing activities. This will reinforce the training received through entrepreneurship workshops, while ginving participants the added confidence gained by giving back to a community.
